Some courses can change as new courses are added all the time, and others are changed or closed down.

Beer Brewing

Learn how to brew your own beer, visit a microbrewery, and impress your friends with geeky beer facts!

In this course, we delve into the century-old culture of beer brewing and look into the history behind it. We visit a microbrewery and hear why craft beer has become so popular. And most importantly, you learn how to brew your own beer - from choosing ingredients such as malt and hops, to mashing, herbal boiling, fermentation, and finally bottling the beer.

Board Games

The goal of this subject is to provide you with insights and expand your knowledge of different board games. We create a space for presence, conversation, and social interaction based on current and relevant games. We will touch upon different experiences such as winning mentality, tactics, and cheating. 

You will get the opportunity to play and learn the rules of both older and newer board games. There are many hidden treasures in playing board games; togetherness, logical thinking, as well as teamwork, diplomacy, and social skills.

In this course, we work with clay and learn the basic techniques of pottery. You get to create and sculpt your clay into almost anything - because when working with clay, there are endless possibilities. 

You are involved in the entire process - from sculpting and painting to seeing the finished product with its very own distinctive design.

Choir is not just a musical experience - it's a way to be social! Singing brings joy and releases endorphins, so if you're looking for a fun way to improve your mood, this course may be the perfect choice for you.

We sing a variety of songs - from current hits on the playlist to timeless classics from the folk high school songbook. We also explore vocal techniques, giving you the chance to refine your singing skills.

Guitar for Beginners

We start by learning the most basic chords on the guitar, and then slowly work our way forward.

The repertoire ranges from children songs to different rhythmic songs – and of course we are singing too! At the end of term we will play a few songs for the other students.

The school has a number of guitars you can borrow.

Knitting & Crochet

In this subject, we take a look at both simple and more advanced knitting and crochet techniques and recipes. We make a bunch of different things such as dishcloths, socks, hats, bags, and sweaters, and work with different colors and patterns. While working on our craft, we will be enjoying each other's company with conversation and a cup of tea or coffee.

Piano for beginners is for those who want to learn playing chords on the piano. We start from scratch, so you don't need any prior experience or the ability to read sheet music. Throughout the course, we may look into sheet music, but our main focus will be mastering chords and learning to incorporate both hands. 

The goal is to be able to accompany yourself and others while singing in groups.

In this course, we will explore a more sustainable and eco-friendly way to approach the future, touching upon topics such as permaculture, wildlife, and native plants.

We will establish small green oases around the school where we will plant trees, bushes, and herbs as well as build birdhouses, insect hotels, watering holes, etc. 

We will embrace nature's food pantry and learn preservation techniques such as pickling, drying, and juicing.

We balance the technical with aesthetics, and focus will be on perspectives, angles, lighting, editing, etc. This way you can make the most of the photos you take, optimize your editing skills, and elevate your visual storytelling abilities.
